International Cooperation
The MPIfG believes that international cooperation is the most promising and rewarding form of comparative research and has close ties with several research institutions and partners abroad. The many visiting scholars spending time at the Institute contribute to and enrich its research.
A long-standing and close collaboration is ongoing between the MPIfG and Sciences Po University in Paris, one of the leading universities in France in the social sciences. Between 2012 and 2022, the MPIfG and Sciences Po maintained the Max Planck Sciences Po Center on Coping with Instability in Market Societies (MaxPo).

Since 2019, the MPIfG has been cooperating with the Max Planck Partner Group for the Study of the Economy and the Public located at the Universidad Central de Chile. Felipe González López leads this group.

The doctoral students of the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) have the opportunity to spend a semester at a renowned research institution abroad as part of their studies.
