MPIfG Joins Leviathan

The MPIfG has been one of the publishers of Leviathan – Berliner Zeitschrift für Sozialwissenschaft since May 2023. Launched in 1973, the academic journal is published jointly by the Berlin Social Science Center WZB, Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and now also the MPIfG, until 2011 with Verlag für Sozialwissenschaften and since 2012 Nomos Verlag. Leon Wansleben, who leads the Research Group on Contested Ecologies of Capitalist Democracies at the MPIfG, represents the Institute as one of the journal’s editors. Leviathan is committed to the idea of social scientific enlightenment and criticism, publishing current contributions to research and debate on political, cultural, economic, philosophical, legal, and media-related topics. The journal has a wide readership across academic teaching and research, politics and administration, and journalism and media.
