Amanda Dixon Elected Gender Equality Officer

The MPIfG’s female members of staff elected Amanda Dixon from the Editorial and Public Relations Unit as their Gender Equality Officer in December 2024. Together with elected deputies Karen Lillie, senior researcher, and Elizabeth Soer, postdoc, she will coordinate gender equality work at the Institute over the next four years. Within the framework of the Federal Gender Equality Act (BGleiG), the team promote and safeguard equality of opportunity for all genders and a discrimination-free working environment at the Institute. Their role includes monitoring hiring procedures and regular dialogue with management on issues relevant to gender equality, equal opportunities, and career advancement. They are part of an active network of local officers under the Max Planck Society's Central Gender Equality Officer.
