Isabell Stamm and Philipp Golka Elected to DGS Economic Sociology Section Board

In February, the Economic Sociology Section of the German Sociological Association (DGS) elected Isabell Stamm (Technische Universität Berlin) and Philipp Golka (MPIfG) to its board, where they will join spokesperson Lisa Suckert (University of Antwerp) and Katharina Zimmermann (University of Hamburg). The section’s role is to coordinate research and teaching in economic sociology in Germany, encourage academic exchange, and raise the public visibility of economic sociology. Isabell Stamm was group leader in the Wealth and Social Inequality Research Focus at the MPIfG from 2019 to 2025 and was appointed professor in the Institute of Sociology at TU Berlin in April of this year. Philipp Golka has been a senior researcher in the MPIfG's Economic Sociology Research Area since 2023.
