The MPIfG welcomes a new cohort of young researchers into the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) in 2019. Ayodeji Akinnimi, previously at the University of Bielefeld, is working on issues surrounding labor markets and migration; Clara Baumann graduated from the University of Cologne and will be researching attachment to the homeland and changing identities; Michael Kemmerling, formerly a research assistant at the University of Cologne, is analyzing banking regulation after the financial crisis; Vanessa Endrejat, who was formerly at Goethe University Frankfurt, explores understanding and regulation of systemically important institutions; and Edin Ibrocevic, also from Goethe University Frankfurt, is researching the creation and use of quasi-scientific knowledge in central banks. The IMPRS-SPCE is a joint international doctoral program of the MPIfG, the University of Cologne, and the University of Duisburg-Essen. Twenty-two doctoral researchers are currently enrolled in the program.
