New guests in fall 2019

Eight new visiting researchers are beginning their work at the MPIfG in September and October: Lea Elsässer, University of Duisburg-Essen, will be exploring the causes of unequal political responsiveness; Andrea Herrmann, Utrecht University, is researching the institutional foundations of the gig economy; May Zuleika Salao, University of Asia and the Pacific, is concerned with the question of globally inclusive societies; Aliénor Balaude, Sciences Po, addresses the sociology of judgment practices in the framework of policies for excellence; Anitra Baliga, London School of Economics and Political Science, is investigating the development of the land market in Mumbai; Weronika Boruc, Max Planck Partner Group for the Sociology of Economic Life in Warsaw, is working on an experimental study of entrepreneurial propensity and willingness to assume risk; Mateusz Halawa, also of the Max Planck Partner Group, Warsaw, researches the financialization of private households in Poland; Marta Olcon-Kubicka, likewise from the Max Planck Partner Group, Warsaw, is analyzing the cultural dimension of intergenerational wealth transfers.
